Know yourself well
Before you know others,
Let not your ego
Stand in the way……
A Poem:
Know yourself well before you know others,
Let not your ego stand in the way;
If you think you’re special, start thinking again,
Before you regret your thoughts some day.
To be a snob is to be burdened by
What others might think or yet might do;
To be self-conceited is to be exposed
To those that might think not well of you.
You could be smart, you could be clever
You could be a genius, yet a social bore,
You could be esteemed as being unrivaled
But your character is what people abhor.
Actions are bound to swallow words,
That are verbalized with airs of conceit;
You’ve triumphed not with gestures alone,
Instead, you’ve caused your own defeat.
If you speak with language, tainted by ego,
You’ll drown your words in a bad overflow;
For knowledge alone might not imply
You haven’t beclouded your infinite sky.
Those that are learned are well aware
Humility is really the best way to share.
