A short poem about an unexpected intruder in my home.
Dry mouth and thumping heart,
The intruder creeps ever nearer
Knees shaking, palms sweating,
Invasion in my own home
Shrill shriek, running now towards the bathroom,
Locked safely behind the door
Minutes pass, nerves are settling,
Gentle tap upon the door
Open door and peer through crack,
Husband smiling, reassuring
Holding glass, intruder captured
Eight legs, hairy body evicted from home
