A poem I wrote about a certain political figure. Here’s a hint: he’s known in the poem as "the man." Here’s another hint: it isn’t Al Gore.

There once was a man
From a far away land
He didn’t have a plan
To fix his swollen gland

So he went to the store
To purchase some coffee
But in his path was Al Gore
Who offered him some toffee

“What is your name?”
Al Gore questioned
“My name is Shame.”
The man mentioned

“Shame?”  Said Al Gore,
Full of surprise
“That name I abhorr.”
Al Gore surmised

“Shame is what you’re called,”
The man began to say
“When your airplane has stalled.”
As they fell into the gray

And on that day
Both men died
The newspapers say
That their mothers cried

But do not believe
That this poem is fact
Because to your relief
Both men are intact
