A poem I wrote.

Treacherous jungle terrain,

as hot as a burning ember.

A vicious creature in the bushes,

hungrily awaits.

Its bulging eyes watching,

its mouth curled in a snarl.

Its victim innocently trudging on,

as if nothing at all is strange.

It pounces on its victim,

clamping them in its jaws.

and with the bloodcurdling scream soon to follow,

it devours its helpless prey.

The creature strides off proudly,

back to its flawless lair.

its closes its enigmatic eyes,

and sleeps to its hearts content.
