The Kids of the Future a poem by Jennifer Jo Fay. A poem about what kids are like in this day and age. What is this new generation coming to?
The Kids of the Future
The year is now 2012
and guess what we are
coming to?
The children of our future are growing up
much, much too fast.
We’ve got Suri Cruise in high heels
and she’s like a little adult.
We’ve got Toddlers and Tiaras
drinking power drinks.
Red Bull is the new fade
for these four year olds.
So my question is when
is the little baby going to be
having Red Bull with his bottle?
And we’ve got all these crack babies
who are having the effects
of the drugs their mothers take.
They don’t care in the least bit
what happens to the newborn child.
Now we will be having younger teenagers
with babies.
Fashion, pimping pageant mothers, and
promotion of seduction will be
born and bread into these little girls
way too soon.
A ten year old and a five year old
aren’t meant to look sultry and sophisticated.
They are little girls.
Make them act their age.
Toddlers and Tiaras is a crisis
in the making.
