A poem recollecting the last day of summer vacation.

The last day of summer,
Oh my, what a bummer.
Complete with its splendor,
I’d throw it in a blender.

Why, you may ask,
Why so downbeat?
Well, I’d tell you so much,
But I’ve gotta be discreet.
For the highlights have gone,
The wonders alight.
My summer has yawned,
It faded, alright.

A trip to the Philippines
And China and more:
Unforgettable experience
For a family of four.
Hot jungles to walk,
Many sights to explore,
I wanted to stalk
A chick in a store.

Then was the driving,
A permit – galore!
I drove many places:
To the moon and more.
My parents were scared
Of crashing and burning,
But I had declared
That I was just learning.

And Starcraft and Halo,
And games about war.
They were exciting
But I soon got bored.
Let’s look at the former,
With Terran and Zerg:
They were all good,
But only one was superb.

What about writing?
This job I had gotten:
Triond was exciting,
As warm as cotton.
Each article that went,
The money was higher.
I could move from my tent;
In a house I could retire.

So where has summer gone?
It faded away.
What about school,
And the first day?
To a life of books
And homework
And studying and more.
I hope it’ll be as fun
As always before.

The last day of summer,
Oh my, what a bummer.
Complete with its splendor,
One I’ll always remember.
