Here are a few things that Ernest Hemingway taught us about writing fiction.

To distrust

Adjective and adverbs and abstract words

To use concrete sense details

To bury the meaning of the story in the subtext

That action is better than exposition

To apply the seat of the pants to the seat of the chair

That a writer needs

Luck

Talent

And discipline

The End

Young Lust is a short story.

I think all those points have been proved right. Nice work, Guy.

Love it, especially the need to apply the seat of the pants to the chair. Right now tough I’m going out for awhile to try and find something to write about.

Great article, Guy. As usual, I have to ask, if you have luck and discipline, can you forego talent?
