Was watching about haunted plantations and came up with this piece.Hoe I did not offend anyone by it.But A show about the Myrtle plantation came up on TV and gave me this idea.Natrurally,a pen and paper wasnt to far away from me.

The Patterson Plantation has been around forever,
Its land and big house are rich in historical value.
You would think someone would buy the house,
but no sane person will go near the ancient relic.

Its many rooms are fun to go through if you like,
the lace curtains give you a false sense of security.
You think that it could be a bed and breakfast Inn,
but then you wonder if the old house is haunted.

For the ancient plantation has a horrid history,
Its been said that murders went on daily here.
Masters killed his slaves for disobeying him,
women of all colors and creed died in childbirth.

Its been rumored that there is a hidden dungeon,
many slaves and visitors lost their lives there.
Some say they have heard the rattle of chains,
frightened voices pleading and begging for help.

Masters spent a lot of times in the slave’s quarters,
making love and babies against a slave’s very wish.
The wives could do nothing but look the other way,
maybe wanting to even the score if they only could.

An old worn out leather whip is in the horse’s stalls,
along with long neglected saddles and other things.
If a simple horse could not please his master then,
there was no hope for all the slaves to do the same.

Its been said the lady of the house has never left,
she still walks her house after two hundred years.
A rustle of silk and a scent of lilac announce her,
she even still plays her ancient piano on occasion.

If you listen you can hear her children still playing,
chasing a ball while Lucy holds on to her baby doll.
You may get lucky and catch a glimpse of them to,
having cookies and tea on the lawn with their mom.

The former master can be seen in the neglected barn,
wiping down his favorite horse after a hard won race.
He won three more slaves to tend to his cotton crops,
if he lost he would have lost six of his best field hands.

So if you are looking for a house to turn into an Inn,
the Patterson Plantation would not be a good choice.
The former residents will not let you live in peace,
they will see you as an intruder then a new owner.

For those who lived here before is not at rest,
their trouble souls will linger here for an eternity.
Some waiting for a kind soul to undo the old chains,
others just wanting to be the family they once were.

But thank you for stopping by the ancient plantation,
maybe the next visitor will free those who need it.
Releasing the Patterson house of its horrid history,
restoring the old plantation to its former glory again.
