I swear my kids think I’m made out of money.

The hall light is on and hot as red coal.

Don’t my kids see the switch on the wall?

Our bedrooms are as bright as the mid morning sun.

And I know it’s been hours since they have seen anyone.

The kitchen lights burn from dawn until way past dark

And the living room is lit up like a baseball park.

I swear my kids think I’m made out of money.

Maybe I would be a millionaire if I bought stock in the electric company.
