Trying to understand the life of the lion.
The young Lion
Is ready for mating
But cannot find a mate.—-
Simple enough,
But the food chain depends
On this lion.
If he can’t mate,
How will he reproduce
And make young that will control the deer population?—-
The days seem long to the lion.
His seed is reproducing inside him
But he is feeble.
Insulting the God that gave him his gifts,
For what use is he if he cannot live on through his offspring?
Surely other, lesser animals would
Jump at any mating opportunity if
They had the lion’s gifts and blessings.
If only they knew.
If only they knew the dangers and struggles
The humble lion faces.
The lion cannot take glory until
Glory has passed him by.—-
The lion is tired of the pressure,
The pressure he exerts on himself.
He cannot see that
Although he is important,
Only he has the power to loosen expectations.—-
Months and months,
Years and years.—-
Time to relax, urgency passes by.
A lioness? No big deal anymore,
What joy can come from mating
If life is so lifeless without it?—-
Spring forth peace of mind. Content.—-
Whether a mate comes or not,
Today or tomorrow,
The lion is satisfied with his role.
His destiny is set, his soul is free.—-
The lion has passed maturation
And is finally ready to mate.
