Childrens’ poetry.
There was a little white pony and a big black cat
They went for a trot around the big yard out back
A swallow-tail butterfly landed on a leaf
Little white pony and big black cat stared in disbelief
They followed the butterfly around the big yard
When they came to a fence acting like a guard
“Oh, shall we jump the fence?” asked the big black cat
“I am so worried about being way too fat”
But the pony jumped high, up and over the fence
And the big black cat sat on the pony’s back very tense
They chased the butterfly all the way down the road
Soon they were lost and not knowing their own zip code
Soon the white pony and the black cat began to chafe
They missed the fence that stood guard and kept them safe
“Oh dear, what shall we do?” said the cat to the pony
Then walking along the road that seemed so stony
They saw the swallow-tail butterfly just ahead
On the road leading them home so they could be fe
