A weird little ditty, odd and ridiculous.

I hope this little ditty gives you a laugh or two.

I brush my teeth and wash my face
I know that I can win this race
The wind will push me firmly on
The lowly worm can do no wrong

I try to always be on time
Sometimes I even write a rhyme
To laughter I am always prone
The lowly worm can do no wrong

The lake is fun for girls and boys
The water can be cool and coy
It sings a hurdy gurdy song
The lowly worm can do no wrong

The lake can also be supreme
It swallows kids who are too mean
Someone must strike the silver gong
The lowly worm can do no wrong

The mountain range ran wide and deep
The deer were fast upon their feet
Roots thrust up as sharp as prongs
The lowly worm can do no wrong

The horse that ran the longest race
Won and fell flat on his face
Bluto thought he was King Kong
The lowly worm can do no wrong

The brownish freckles on my cheeks
Sometimes I fear that they might leak
But they’ve been stuck there so long
The lowly worm can do no wrong

He was a lover of the land
He marred the fields with human hands
His sister cooked the supper pone
The lowly worm can do no wrong

The food is frozen on the shelf
I wonder if I am myself
I love my ice cream in a cone
The lowly worm can do no wrong

See the green peas in a pod
Sometimes I think they are quiet odd
Odd and I drone on and on
The lowly worm can do no wrong

The lady with the blackened eyes
Can stretch to reach the clear blue sky
Some people’s legs are way too long
The lowly worm can do no wrong

Dan and Al back from Iraq
W needs a great big smack
He will soon be off his throne
The lowly worm can do no wrong

Sort of profound imagery that tells something on how futile war is.

I liked the way you hid satire into this innocent-looking rhyme.

It brought me a smile, especially the W bit.

I think that you lost your stanzas. It all came out as one long rhyme. Is that the way you intended?

Triond simply ruined my poem and now everyone has read it. You were right Anne. It should have been in stanzas. I have a fix on it now. I thank you all for checking it out and I appreciate all the comments. Everyone take care, Ruby
