I remember May 23rd better than yesterday

I remember the chance we took

how the words I do came out so easily

Did the words Are you sure ever cross your mind?

I wonder why us and the answer is simple.

We took a chance on love and got lucky

we started out not knowing a damn thing 

but quickly got educated in the ways of trust

learned to let go, hoping that we would endure

It seems like every seven years is a chance

to fix the previous years

just when it seemed that love had run out

we gave the die one last try

hit seven twice and made it to eleven

 we could roll another seven if you like?

  try our hand at black jack

Maybe play Rolette and do better than fifty-fifty

win or lose I’m better betting on you.

We took a gamble fourteen years ago,

and come what may I’m willing to give love more tries

because on May 23rd I became the luckiest man alive.
