The flow of the tide may sometimes go against the grain, as it is, the swimmer who goes against the tide may just be on to something. The cynic may call that swimmer ludicrous, but that all depends on whatever perspective you look at it from.

Part 1

The cauldron of hate boils to the fore
like bubbling manifestations of fear,
infectious and contagious to the core

Deep within the doom and gloom
the ludicrous swimmer does struggle
to raise himself from his wanton tomb.

As the cauldron of hate boils more and more
the fumes of distaste stick like a cancer
poisoning the mind through every pore.

Interlude

The flames arise from the cauldron of hate
from the beginning of time to this very date.
A hero is needed to douse the flames
to rid the cauldron of its evils and pains.
The ludicrous swimmer fights on and on
to stem the flow of a hope now long gone.

Part 2

From within the destruction and mess
the ludicrous swimmer tries
to stay true to his realism and do his best.

A shining light amidst the constant dearth
the ludicrous swimmer knows his worth
as the cauldron of hate produces fire on Earth.

The ludicrous swimmer is not ludicrous at all
for he knows the truth of the lies that abound
currently the only one to honour the call.

In the end!

The fight goes on to destination unknown
battle scars are won through hope.
At the end of the day when the last light goes out
doth a cap to the one who swam against the tide
in that cauldron of hate.

Wow – I love this and I love the analogy. Were would the world be without our ludicrous swimmers. We need more I say. Excellent and thanks for playing dude.

I like your use of imagery. What a refreshing and unique approach to the challenge. Well done.

Honor to the “ludicrous” swimmer who swam against in the tide in the cauldron of hate alone. An inspiring piece of work. Well done.

This is awesome. What a perfect analogy, and what a great way to point out such a truth.
