Once a Year, I come.

All I live for , is this one night,
So I can behold this glorious sight.
The silvery Moon, quite full, Hovers on the sea.
Reflecting images of You and Me.

Across crystal waves You walk to my side,
Our time at last with this magical tide.
It’s the night all the Mer Folk can be free,
The night You fell in love with Me.

Your fish tail disappears as You walk upon the sand.
And clasp hold of my eagerly waiting hand.
The moon now golden for all to see.
Melting on the waves, let it always be.

But soon the sun will take the sky,
Time of farewells, we hold and cry,
Your tail returns, You splash and swim away,
Until next year, same place, the same day….until then

I love poetry that rhymes! Not a big fan of mermaids, but still good anyway!
