The main road is not always smooth

Pot holes and danger lay before you

Listen to those who guide your route

Their wisdom will get you past the weeds and grass

Yet problems are many and may halt your progress

Staying on the main road to avoid stress

If you get off the main road as we all do sometimes

Just know an alternative may still be adequate

Keep on moving because the goal lay in the future not in the past

Remember to achieve we must keep faith

The road you should travel throught life

No turns, left or right; just straight ahead

Any movement off the path may be faced with blinding light

The road is marked if your path is right

So stay alert and do not be blue

An alternative route may cross your path

This is just a fact of life

But knowing when and how much

May be worth the price
