Popular culture would have us believe that the title characters were twin brothers. For the purpose of this poem I have "un-related" the two and altered Dum’s gender. It’s called poetic license. Mine is still current and doesn’t expire until I do.

If Tweedle Dee married Tweedle Dum
You can see what a mess that could become.
She now will be called Mrs. Tweedle Dee–
Both man and wife the same name will be.
What if a check should be made out one day
To Tweedle Dee. Which one would it pay?
If a package arrives for one Tweedle Dee
Who knows for whom? A real mystery.
Suppose the phone rings. “Is the Tweedle Dee?
Where are you? I’ve been waiting since three.”
“You’ve got the wrong Dee. I’ll see iff he’ll come.
Your date’s on the phone, Mr Tweedle Dee Dumb.”
