Sometimes when we first see someone, we judge them on appearances. We have no idea of what they really are on the inside of them.

The Mask Is Only An Illusion
When you look at me you see quality,
I was born in an upper class society.
My husband is a world famous lawyer,
I can afford the best of anything I want.
****
I wear Gucci, Prada and Armani clothes,
its accessories to match costs just as much.
Harry Winston and Tiffany are my jewelers,
my wedding band is over two carets alone.
****
My long blond silky hair is well managed,
I only go to the best salons that money buys.
You never see me without my polished nails,
I need to look my best for my loving husband.
****
The restaurants we frequent is top of the line,
with expensive Champaign and fine caviar.
We never have to wait in line for a good table,
our name alone makes sure we get the best seat.
****
But there are times I want to get away from it all,
wear blue jeans and an old stained flannel shirt.
Go horseback riding on the beach with my baby,
make love in the misty caves when no one is around.
****
Go motorcycle riding and see the wide open country,
eat at a normal restaurant with everyday normal folks.
Spend the day fishing on a quiet riverbank hiding out,
getting away from the stress of the life I was born in.
****
But I cant since the press wouldn’t leave me alone,
so I only get to do these things when I dream at night.
So the beautifully made up socialite is only an illusion,
in reality wants to be a country girl raising some children.
