About working as a mechanic.

I am the mechanic in this shop
surrounded by engines that smoke, groan and pop.
A clean filter, plugs one or two
and of course an oil change when its due.
Some of the old machines with dropping headlights
have left me a puddle  during the night.
But out in the morning ready to ride
showing off a new gasket in its underside.
All day long like Doctors do
I fix them all back like new.
Some need major, like compression rings
others need a lift so they get new springs.
Some limp in , tire gone flat
up in the air and a tube fixes that.
And then as I put my tools away
my machines all lined up at the end of the day,
I tell them good night and close the doors,
until the morning comes and it starts once more!

This is nice. My husband is a mechanic so I have a little experience with this kind of thing.

Mechanics are so underestimated. I’d like to see doctor strip motor. I sure can’t do. Great writing

Mechanics are like doctors, only more successful at putting things right! I think there will be more of a need for them now, because people won’t be able to afford new things, so hopefully will keep getting things repaired.
