A poem comparing seasons to life.
The Melody of the Season
Remembering the songs of my life’s Spring
Joy comes quick and laughter seems endless
As a boy the school bell rings
Just waiting to grow up I feel so anxious
Summer waits for me in the distance
Just messing with friends it all seems true
Parents thinks we teens are a nuisance
Then I feel my first kiss and my world turns blue
Summer ain’t over yet and as we become our own heroes
Knowing that my friends will fight with me to the end
Wishing for our encore as the audience says bravo
Curtains go down as we make amends
Leaves begin to fall but the music plays on
Listening to the melody with your wife and son
Grown up you teach what you can to a young mind
That soul is now a part of love combined
Winter reminds you of all the accomplishments
Of all the sacrifice and the memories that were dormant
You know you did right by you, your son, and family
You welcome God’s embrace as he calls for you,
Smiling at the world you leave behind only saying, gladly.
