This poem is about the wisdom of trees.

The Memory Keepers

Touching the enormous tree, standing upon the grassy knoll

I can sense the immense wisdom of it’s ancient soul

The wind whispers softly through  it’s leaves

The voice of  this magnificent tree calling out to me

I feel it’s spirit touching me within

Telling the stories of life, imprinted there-in

It holds the memory of all who have come before

Engrained within it’s branches, is ancient folklore

Trees are memory keepers, they hold the stories of old

For they have always been here, storing knowledge untold

Each spring they give birth to new life

As they spread their seeds far and wide

Each seedling holds within it’s tiny branches

The wisdom of it’s ancestors, carried throughout the ages
