We all live through life with a rhythmic timekeeper, the Metronome of life…

I am in a time ship in my world of fantasy,

I am travelling to my past, my world of ecstasy.

To look happy thoughts and sit with a smile,

To dream with closed eyes with memories for a while.

My relentless metronome, my music to my ears,

Giving me happiness that dispels all fears.

Time of life, my musical beat,

You give the rhythm on this uneven street.

You are my keeper, my soulful tune,

You give me a mission as I walk that dune.

You are my metronome as you keep my time,

The Creator’s timekeeper a priceless dime.

My endless heartbeat pumping in love,

The gift of reality sent from above.

My feelings are limitless and filled with bliss,

May I be true to life as time’s passion I kiss.

In my unique spaceship I am so far away,

Living in happiness with brightness of day.

Memories of good times keep flooding back,

Bringing in smiles to keep me on track.

Time and eternity will someday unite as one,

A tribute to the Creator when my life’s day is done.

May my actions their certifications receive,

May my unfinished tasks gather needed reprieve.

For I am mortal living each day,

Making a memory as I walk away.

Each action I create is a dance sublime,

With my life’s metronome keeping rhythm and time.

For when you enter this world with the anthem of love,

You leave this abode feeling the same as above.

Then everything that happens from life till wreath,

Can be looked at, coped and accordingly dealt with.

For we are all part of life’s great metronome,

We are but inmates of the Creator’s temporary home.

We are but dancers dancing life’s dance,

Entertaining the Creator with experience at a glance.

We will one day be that infinite time beat,

Leaving behind memories on that uneven street.

May each memory be an experience gateway,

To remind our future heirs of our lives of today.

May my fantasies my respite be,

As I walk through future’s untold mystery.

May I be a blessing to everyone I love,

For I am an instrument chiseled by the above.

I keep my beat with my metronome of life,

My greatest companion through pain and strife.

May I do justice to my rhythmic time,

To create memories that are infinitely sublime.

Very interesting in the description and topics, but I would like to have have seen a more regular meter for a poem called “The Metronome of Life”.

I’m not trying to be a pill, but if you were to fine tune the lines so that they have a regular and repeated number of syllables per line, this poem would be great in terms of underlying form as well.

You can message me about this if you want to.

AA – This is a beautiful description of how our time is metred out for us as we make our journey. Great idea from Kris…interested to see a comparison…if you do refine it…keep both the original and the refined or tag the refined onto the end if Triond won’t let you post a similar poem. Overall, a great write. I liked it a bunch…we all need to walk and be in tune to our metrinome.

Thank you Jimbo, will re-release the edited version as soon as I complete incorporating the tips given by Kris into it… :-)
The tips are more rhythm and time based as my work had an irregular rhythm and this being something related to time, he suggested that I modify it to get the ticktock effect to convey the meaning not just in words but also in the pace of reading… :)
