Dreams.

The morning bears witness to the sweet breath I watch you take in to sustain the happy slumber you have attained within my grasp.

The disdain I feel for the ineptness you have had to wallow through slowly recedes as I glimpse a smile cross your soft lips.

It is brought forth by your wakening to see me watching over you as you rested making sure you were safe from harm.

A glitter of hope slides into the corner of my eye as you stretch and let me into your waking world of endearment.

As I see you coming to full awareness I wonder if you will send me packing to carry on my life as is, alone and desolate.

To presume that I am worthy of your attentions would be a grave mistake on my part, who am I to warrant such a thing.

I think back to what we have shared and speak upon a whisper to you,  have I proven myself worthy.

I seek the answer within your eyes that pull my innermost emotions from their pooling well kept cavern.

To do so lightly is a common practice from a common man as they have yet to truly want to be wanted.

Do you care for me to be there, will I still make you smile if I do not leave quickly.

My head swims with questions only you can answer.  Only you have the power to set me free from my prison.

The place I go nightly as I silently bid you farewell my sweet lady as I see you walk away to be with another.

Am I not a good man, am I not worthy of a woman’s touch.  To be held and caressed as one loved is.

To walk a sandy beach hand in hand with that special one who is with me for me as I stand before you this day.

Quiet solitude, ticking noises, birds chirping.. this is all too familiar.  But what of my waking within that perfect moment?

I stretch and look at the ceiling, I look beside me, emptiness.  As I rouse from my bed chamber and think aloud I speak:

Of this my fair sweet lady I do promise, a dream will remain a dream until acted upon.

This action will only proceed if it is willed upon my person by you with your blessing.

Till that day I will continue to hope and pray that one fine day, “ My DREAMS will come true.”
