An interesting comparison between love and a napkin.
The best of all the things I’ve written have been jotted down on napkins and later thrown away.
Used, folded up, crinkled, torn. Discarded.. someone’s refuse.
Like my love, I wonder if anyone will see it – this napkin – and care enough to try to unfold it to see whats really, truly on the inside….
And if that they see the smeared text, the edges worn.. rough and tattered… if they will deem it worthy or simply toss it aside yet again.
Love like this napkin, is fragile, but if cared for … nourished… it can dry up the tears of grief and regret and survive a lifetime.
