What others perceive as nothing may just be everything to someone else.

Kept under lock and key,

she feels so protected.

Thoughts running through her head,

a never-ending question…

Where did I go wrong?

Things were great.

She thought she had it all,

but when she looked in the mirror,

she saw she had nothing.

Not nothing as in not having friends or family,

the nothing where your life has lost its meaning,

the nothing where your memories are there,

there to haunt you.

The nothing with scars as a reminder of where she’s been.

The nothing that means everything to her.
