On the great American pastime, inspired by real life recollections.
The stadium was filled
The seats packed tight
The jerseys, were muddy, brown and white
Sharp black helmets shined in the light so bright
Late in the season,
it was a cool November night
Players took to the field,
they were confident padded knights
They knew what was coming;
They were ready for a fight
The linemen brushed through
using all their might
The quarterback threw
a screen to the right
With ultimate precession,
a perfect spiral flight
As the first whistle blew
To make the game begin,
the better team was set to win
They retreated to the sidelines
With ear to ear grins
They smoked them so bad,
The JV team got in
Redeemed from the losses
Relieved from the pain,
I just made a poem out of a football game
