Poem about a crippled orphan wanting a home.

He sits in the orphanage,
Feeling all alone.
He daydreams of better days,
Wondering if he will ever find a home.
~
He see the grown ups come,
They pick out the younger girls and boys.
They make plans to take them home.
They bring them wonderful toys.
~
He’d give up all the toys for a home,
But he’s all but give up hopen.
He thinks as he leans on his crutch,
No one wants a kid that is broken.
~
He has a disability,
His legs don’t work just right.
Who would want a half boy?
He lies in his bed and cries at night.
~
Then one day a woman comes,
She walks slowly into the room.
I’m looking for a special child,
One that will be mine soon.
~
You see I can’t have children,
But i have alot of love to give.
I’m tired of being alone,
This child will help me live.
~
She walk right to the broken child,
He says hello ma’am my name is Devon.
She looked into his sad eyes,
She said we are a match made in heaven. ~
Now they live together,
In their happy little home.
They both have what they always wanted,
Neither will ever again be alone.

Such a sweet poem : ) If only people would just give that little bit of extra love just to make a child happy : ) You made a great impression of that in your poem : )

So sad at the beginning, but I’m glad it has a happy ending.

It must be hard for the older orphan kids. As you say, everyone wants the little ones. Maybe people should adopt and older AND a younger one – or at least think about it. Must be so hard for those kids not having a close loving relationship with parents.
