This is one of those pieces that just poured out of me. Where it came from I don’t no. Perhaps I was possessed by the spirit of Edgar Allen Poe.
I look in the mirror,
No reflection do I see,
Only your eyes coming to suck the life out of me.
So I look to the pavement,
One silly notion befalls me.
I’m smashing down your dirty words with a bottle of Brandy.
A drunkard you call me,
An alci with no heart,
But you don’t give me what I ask for.
Now, I must depart.
Give me one last reason
To take your final plea.
Give me one good explanation, one we both can agree.
But I can’t make heads or tails of you.
Are you in a place stuck in between?
My envy turns a darker shade of green.
It’s the other side of the coin,
The one we can not see,
But it is there just the same
To kill the chastity.
I look to the sky,
That blue sky of wisdom,
But clouds eat the knowledge to the pathways of our precious kingdom.
So I stare blindly at the sun,
Knowing the danger.
One sense of lost does not lighten the anger.
I drown in things not healthy,
Consumption of deadly sins.
A battle for a soul, I shall be the one to win.
Shall I lie here drowning in tears,
Suspended in the misery I invented?
Lady Hope is late for the date with the uninvited.
Still, I can’t make or tails of it,
Stuck in some place in between.
I kill the envy that deviates me to a darker shade of green.
On the other side of the coin,
The one never seen,
But it stays there just the same,
Destined to kill the chastity.
But behind every coin there’s a person hiding every emotion.
One half is me, and one half is you,
Blind to the coming devotion.
