This is a poem that describes the outside world scenario of human rights violation especially as it happen here in Africa where there is no dependable platform to fight for your right. This is worse than the literal prison.
THE OUTSIDE PRISON
Prison is a home
All away from home
Where right’s denied
Freedom’s estranged
But inmates are happy
Not for the torture
Nor the isolation
But it’s a shield
Or a cover
From the outside prison
Where life’s free
And also chained and locked
Home is a prison
Hubbies, the wardens
Scanning the women’s moves
Overruling their objections
Especially to domestic rules
They’re winners-take-all
Dreadful even to their wards
Laws are sacrosanct
From the fearful pops
Office is a prison
Protocols duly observed
Rights freely infringed
Harassment is always daily
She takes or leaves it
Accept or stay home
Latter’s impossible choice
So she opts for former
Society is a prison
Ruled by Shylocks on seats
They kill and maim
Promised luxuries before polls
Turn strangers after
Acting The Powerful’s scripts
Dictators getting dictation
Bringing unending confusion
To the outside prisoners
Who see but can’t talk
Hear, but can’t complain
Inside prisoners rejoice
Theirs, a better cage
Shut from the outside prison
But happy to see reason
