The pain of losing a love after a break up. Part of the old poetry found filed a way.
I breathe in and my heart fills with pain,
I blink and the tears start falling down my cheek,
I think of you and I become a mess,
Still I try to live and hope for the best.
Never thought it would come to this,
As quick as it came I lost it.
Got so swept up in these feelings I have for you,
I didn’t realize it would hurt so much to love you.
I wake up every morning hoping things had changed,
Read into things that are in truth no big deal,
Lay all my hopes that the end of this heartache would soon arrive,
That we could work towards a future by each other’s side,
The way it’s looking I’m not so sure.
I try so hard to give you space,
Because it seems the more I reach out to you the more you pull a way,
Almost as if you wish I would go a way.
So now all I have is just this pain,
Sweet memories of how the future could have been.
I’m running out of wishes from shooting stars,
I think fate is tired of me wishing for you.
My friends are trying to help me trying to convince me that I’ll one day be back with you,
But all I can see right now is the pain of losing you.
