The park is a beautiful and peaceful place to spend some time.

Today the sun called out to me

To venture out to pastures green,

And soon I found the local park

And ‘neath an oak tree sat unseen.

*

The lovely views much pleasure gave

As squirrels scampered ‘cross the grass,

And laughter echoed from the swings

And couples arm in arm strolled past.

 *

From tree tops down to rippling lake,

Where children played their games of chase,

Mums with prams and toddlers came

To pass time in this peaceful place.

*

A young boy held out crumbs of bread

As swans and ducks ate from his hands.

He squealed out loud then ran to play,

No longer able to meet demands.

*

And in the distance a cricket game

Had many enthusiasts gathered round,

In hope that maybe on this day

Their team a winning streak had found.

*

On new mown grass picnics were laid

And tempting treats brought families back.

Sandwiches, cakes and cooling drinks

Soon sent them off refreshed by snacks.

 *

And as I watched these happy scenes

Soothing thoughts soon filled my mind,

Banishing the woes of yesterday

And leaving problems far behind.

This is something I can’t even imagine. I live almost all the time indoors. I trapped within a polluted city. Even when on a holiday, my parents took me to shopping centers. So, sorry, I can’t imagine such a great park.
