I happened past the park today,

I happened past the park today,

All the children having fun at play,

Boys running through the cut grass,

Some playing football, catching a pass,

Girls singing, while enjoying the swings,

Long locks flowing, that the wind brings,

Toddlers sit playing, in the warm sandbox,

Some even finding, some cute little rocks,

Parents close by, watching them all,

Ready to jump, if any was to fall,

The aroma of Bar-B-Q, starting in the pit,

Smelling so good, I’d like a place to sit,

Laughing and giggles that I do hear,

A beautiful day, so bright and clear,

So much happiness in this park they found,

Now I must continue, homeward bound…
