Immigrant travelers on a perilous quest for riches, new land, and glorious immortality at the ends of the Earth. Fearless Vikings boldly set forth into the unknown as Valkyries spirits wait to take them home.

They can see the frozen sunlight
Where there is no life
Bold and beautiful in the deepest night
Across frozen lands and frontiers
From some distant shores beyond Nordic seas
Riding the tundra in hopes of finding Valhalla
Venture forth chosen few
Glory awaits those who are true
By Freyja grace if stumble and fall
Rest assured in tumble of battle when Odin calls
Let the gilded Gates of Adgard sooth the heart
Travels majestic make heroes and kings
Wise old sages make legendary dreams
Who makes haste to aid the final glory of Ragnarok!

A wonderful poem which takes me back to my teaching days when we covered the Valkyries and Asgard while studying the Vikings.

All I know about vikings is what I’ve read in novels which are mostly fiction. I like your poem
