It is easy to see something that isn’t the something that you thought it was if you are looking at it in a way that is different from someone else. Or something like that.

‘Come quick,’ said the man in the hat
‘I was looking at Uranus’ (the planet you understand)
‘what did you see?’ asked the man with no hat.
‘Something very odd, but as clear as my hand.’

‘Look through the telescope
What do you see?’
Just to the right of the planet Uranus
Sat a blob of a shape
With a number of things coming out its bottom.
Not its bottom as in its butt
But from the underneath.

The man with no hat laughed his socks off
And returned the telescope to the man with the hat
(who still had his socks on!)

‘It seems to be moving in a very strange way,
No matter what way I move the telescope
The blob of a shape with the things coming out its bottom
Seems to move in the same way!’

‘I will doff my hat’ said the man in the hat
As others will too
For I reckon I have found a lunar anomaly.

The man with no hat would not doff his hat
Even if he had been wearing one
For he had realised the truth.
‘twas not a lunar anomaly at all
Just a spider on the lens of the telescope.

    LMAO!

there you are churning out something which does appear to be something entirely different from what we predicted it to be.

The ending was superb.Good show too.

You did a great job eliminating all possible double-entendres, making this a “family-friendly” scary piece

  • Annie Hintsala on Oct 6, 2010

That was clever. And perhaps a little drug induced :) Thanks for the laugh.

The most interesting experience on using a telescope I have ever known. Clever use of the challenged words. Your morning work give me a morning laugh. Well done.
