A place of perfect peace.

**

I often stand high up on the cliff

And gaze at the sea so still.

The depth of the blue,

Such a beautiful hue

Still gives me a wonderful thrill.

I imagine stormy days long gone,

When beneath a threatening sky,

Huge waves hurled their spray

Onto rocks cold and grey,

Drowning the sound of the seagulls’ cry.

**

On long hot summer days

When beneath the sun’s caress

Children played on the sand

Of this beach so grand

A sight which never failed to impress.

And even now in the chilly winter sun

This beauty fills me with such peace,

And as I watch a sailboat

On large waves trying to float

My wonder will never cease.

What a wonderful job. You have caught the images of the beach in your words. I love to walk on the beach and often thought about moving to the beach until Hurricane Ivan hit here. I think I will just keep my inland Florida home and visit the beaches as often as I can for a day in the sun or a walk in the sand.

Christine, I envy your view, although I love my own view of fields and mountains. I would love a view of the sea too. I must be selfish.

There ain’t no place like home Christine :-) Nice pics … We all have a special or “perfect place” to go when we need fresh air and time out from our normal daily routines … a place that makes us happy to be alive … a place where we shared fun times with family and friends … kinda puts things in perspective ~ well-penned Christine :-)
