I just read a story today which reminded me of this:

Once:

With a fear of Witches Familiars, people killed off all the Cats.

The Rats grew in number as did their Fleas,

People encouraged Children to kill and pick up all the Rats.

Their Fleas with now nothing to eat, Jumped.

Too feed of their young Children, instead.

The origins of the Great Plague of middle aged Europe.

And the origin behind the Pied Piper story too.

Hence The Hill they buried their Children in.

The Hill the Children disappeared into.

In the Story!

China too, under Mao, encouraged their people to catch all the Birds.

Crop feeding Insects grew in number.

And Devoured and Decimated their Crops

Even today they still collect their Birds in cages.

China compensates for this effect by using masses of Insecticides

And pesticides in their crop production!

Not to mention the extra cost of fertilizers to poor farmers.

I mention this because I was wondering how many other instances are there of this kind.  Has anyone put such together?

I bet it would be good reading.

It’s just that in Egypt, this week they have killed off all the Pigs in mainly Christian Sectors of their Cities, in reaction to swine flu.

Their Pigs had till now been great waste refuse and sewage cleaners.

Now their waste and sewage is beginning to increase.

And within, theirs Rats.

The moral of the tale is if you Fine people for Feeding Birds, then in real Cold Periods, when Birds really need food.  It will get Bird Flu much quicker.
