The pond glitters from the sun,

Waves ripple upon the shore,

Beautiful swans glide on by,

A day with my special someone,

Trees are filled with leaves for shade,

Sounds of birds chirping in the air,

Fresh smell of the flowers in bloom,

A small picnic to share I made,

Bottle of wine with two glasses,

Some crackers and some cheese,

Sandwich that we two can share,

Even a candle and some matches,

Sit upon the blanket us two,

Sharing some laughs and giggles,

Cuddled up close to one another,

I even steal a kiss from you,

A butterfly flies onto a  flower,

Sits upon a petal in plain view,

It cares not that we are close by,

Beauty of nature this park does shower,

Laughter of children is not afar,

Boys are playing some soccer,

Girls are watching and cheering,

Parents keeping an eye where they are,

You stretch out to get a bit more comfy,

You lay your head upon my lap,

I run my fingers through your hair,

Telling you how happy you make me,

The day goes by as we care not,

We have enjoyed being with each other,

Talking, laughing, planning our future,

Remembering the day we tied the knot,

Everyone now seem to be fading away,

It grows quieter as the day ends,

Soon the sun even begins to set,

A little longer we wish to stay,

We go for a walk hand in hand,

The pond  has a darker color now,

The water so still and calm,

As night begins to cover the land,

Our love has a tremendous bond,

You hold me close and give me a kiss,

We smile and say that we enjoyed our day,

Our wonderful day at the pond…..
