The element of fear is all around us, without which, we would have lived in a chaotic world where people would have unleashed their animal instincts to the detriment of life on earth. Yet fear can be entirely unjustified and could prevent us from achieving our objectives that could have been attained through courage and self-confidence.
Fear can be good and bad:
It alerts us against peril,
or obsesses us unduly;
prepares us for the worst,
or leaves us in doubt;
keeps us from blundering
or leaves us in suspense;
warns us to be discreet
or drives us insane,
It controls our passion,
or stirs our temptation.
Success may elude us
because of the fear that
we may fail, or by conquering
unnecessary fear, success
may be achieved and
goals met.
Fear of God and laws
of government,help us
toe the line in our
relationships, without which
we’d be living absolutely
estranged from ourselves
and from others.
Fear has its boundaries
that may not be crossed.
Fear saves us from danger,
yet, if overblown, can
expose us to harm.
No matter what,
good or bad,
fear is an essential ingredient
in the recipe of living
within the bounds of
propriety, without which
life would have been chaotic,
barbarism dominant
and life on earth could
never be the same.
