Our garden looks so pretty at the moment and it is due mainly to the wonderful wallflowers my hubby planted last year.

All pictures are of writers own garden
The Proud Wallflowers
Our tiny garden is my hubby’s pride and joy.
He’s out there in both sunshine and in showers,
Tending daily and with the greatest of care
His most colourful and profuse wallflowers.
He filled two troughs with these bright blooms,
Not expecting very much success,
So you can imagine how great was his surprise,
When they blossomed with such prowess.

Standing among the daffodils and tulips,
They bowed to each of them in turn,
Then stood up tall and with great disdain
Looked down on the lazy fern.
As time went on and others withered and slept,
These mighty plants proved themselves the best.
Through hot summer sun and winter snow
They flowered without stopping to rest.
And now that the longed for spring has returned
And the daffodils are out once more,
The wallflowers have replied with the greatest of smiles
By producing vivid flowers galore.

Who would have thought that those weedy plants
My hubby had potted out last year,
Would give the best blooms in the whole garden
And provide us with so much cheer.
