To intervene or let it be.

The other day while riding home from Bradenton

An insect lodged in my windshield wiper

Happens all the time no reason to hyper

Yet as he clung my mind was flung into

A possible rescue, but if i pull over without cue

That might puzzle my riding crew

So i rode on

But i thought on his plight whether going on was right

Yet should this be the scheme of things?

And let life pass even if it has wings?

However my thoughts stuttered it seemed his wings

Still fluttered as i muttered to my own defense

What sense it’s just an insect what the heck

Evening then dawn i had completed forgotten

Of my insectious friend but alas again

I see him still trapped in my windshield wiper

As i drove he fluttered from the wind perhaps

How could he survive such an ordeal

And yet still be alive

When i turned the next corner he was gone

Thought in my soul creature live on

But upon second glance to the windshield

A streak of slime left revealed

I like this poem. Contemplation of an insect on the windshield is not something I have contemplated. Great creativity, thank you.

The insect in this poem and your concern for it, reminds me of people we worry about. The insect reminds me of people we care for who don’t give us a second thought. Those same people fly out of our lives. Sometimes they may leave a slime behind. That slime may be the things they did to hurt us.
Perhaps I’m too gloomy or have read too much into it! It’s a thought provoking poem. I think when people see an insect they will have a thought but don’t bother to pen the thought.

When I see a fly, I think of that pesky ole’ devil who keeps coming back and we learn to shoo him. When I see a butterfly, I think of Yeshua/Jesus who set us free. Wow! I really liked this poem.
