A poem about going off to find something you want, finding it, and realizing you want something entirely different.
Eat the queen and travel west.
Don’t stop until the sun rests.
Camp under the forgotten stars.
Lay faithfully and watch for mars.
And when you tire and begin to tear,
Fall asleep and forget your fear.
Awake among the starved cactus,
Walk along as is your practice.
Travel quickly and wish for rain.
Don’t forget to water your brain.
And when your sorrows overwhelm,
You will soon be out of the acrid realm.
Cross the mountains without fear.
Soon you reach the final frontier.
You have walked far no doubt,
Through a rough untimly drought.
And now that you are secure,
The eastern sun begins to allure.
