The rain is falling harder today
I don’t know when or if
It will ever stop

The chills that run through my body
Echoes and quakes along
The length of my small form

I am powerless to the storm

Powerless, come what may
I can no longer fight the clouds
I can no longer wish the rains to fade away

I can only submit to what they bring

I can only survive through the dreariest of days
And only keep my heart and mind focused on the
Rainbow that always miraculously follows

Everyday, life becomes more of a mystery
To me

Everyday, I just feel more confused
Feel unsure of which direction to take
Which path to choose

In my mind the picture’s so clear
And yet for some reason
In my life, in my reality
Things gray and blur and I’m thrown
Back into days of unending downpour
And, nights that hold no certainty
Or promise of things I held onto
Could count on and hope for
Once, in a lifetime
A million years before.
