Being a drum is quite the delight…
My skin is stretched so very tight
My bottom’s open wide
And I’m pounded, hard and fast
In the bright lights of the night
I’m owned by only one man
But I feel the sticks of many
Those players get paid and glorified
But for me? Not a penny
You might think my life a hard one
My career’s a lot of work
My job has plenty of downsides, sure
But now, let’s hear the perks
When not in use, I just hang out
With all my closest friends
Some specialize in oral work
Or take fingers end to end
I practice every afternoon
And game time’s Friday night
If you find yourself in experienced hands
Being a drum is quite the delight
