You never know till after a rainstorm whether a roof repair was effective.

Shutting down the computer,
Thinking of heading off for bed…
Thunder crashed in the distance;
I peeked out the door instead.

Sirens began to blare through the night,
I turn on the radio, unplug the Internet
“Air to ground lightning”,
Was what the commentator said.

A tornado had been spotted in the sky,
Gathering critters in the center room,
We wait for it to go on by
In the night time gloom.

With a mighty roll of thunder,
The clouds let loose a harsh deluge.
The radio blathered on
The storm front it was huge!

With a last vengeful mutter,
The cloud mass at last moved on,
Just a few more minutes,
The clouds and rain were gone.

The hour was late, I was tired,
But I let out a happy sigh.
The roof patch had held.
The dining room was dry.

Was it our tropical storm that causes all your rain? Glad your okay and the roof didn’t leak.

A good poetic description of nature’s wrath, one’s concern about it and the total joy of knowing the patch held.

Be glad it was not a moving leak. The house I grew up in had one. We fix it and it would move to someplace else.

    Enjoyed this.
