A poem showing the natural gift of roosters to keep time in the rural communities of Africa.

The rooster has grown enough now to crow;

His mother just bought him a watch to help in his time keeping;

He is so delighted that he wants to start crowing much before the time;

But he will not dare that; death penalty remains the punishment of any rooster that crows at the wrong time in some parts of Igbo land in Africa.

Inaccurate timing by roosters is unheard of in my home town in Africa.

Roosters keep to the time, discipline themselves by not crowing indiscriminately and are reminded by no one when the time is due. This is a voluntary natural timekeeping job where a defaulter provokes enormous consequence.
