A poem about life.

The Rover

I recall my past,

Wretched as it was,

Beatings day and night,

My parents gave no love.

I turned into a rebel,

And I did have a cause,

Trashing every healthy choice,

I gave no thought to pause.

Thankfully, I found God,

Or was it God who found me?

No matter, the journey turned out

Just as it was meant to be.

I am in the present day,

I struggle just like you,

Everyone is in my prayers,

Even the evil that we do.

I love and I am loved,

No greater thing can be

As important as the true heart

Seeking wisdom to be free.

I look into the future,

No matter, honor or shame,

Whatever comes of our dreams,

It all remains the same.

I wonder where I will travel,

When I an gone from here,

I have faith in a better place,

One we should all hold dear.
