The Rude One a poem by Jennifer Jo Fay A poem about nasty mean people and how do you rise above them?

The Rude One

There once was a girl

who was extremely rude,

she was brassy, nasty and mean.

She thought she was queen

but really was not.

She had toilet written all over her mouth.

Oh whoops, rollercoaster railroad track.

She had the nerve to judge others

that she did not know.

She looked rather ugly

as her thoughts did show through.

She was beneath the kind girl

that she criticized and threatened.

And pray tell,

what was her demise?

She sunk lower

of course

and got trampled by a

community

that felt that mean ganging up on

was not the way to be.

Rudeness and bullies

never leave the schoolyard.

Once a bully is born,

they are simply made that way.

You can’t teach them

new tricks. Lead them to water

but they will not learn to drink,

because

oop,

it’s tap water

and they only drink spring.

But perhaps if they were

given spring they might

not know that someone

spit in it and then handed it to them.

So sit down

rude girl,

think about what you say.

You’re mean and you know it.

What makes you say such a thing?

Simply rude.

And what did I hear you say?

You plan to threaten me?

How dare you,

you ungrateful soul!
