How do you spend your time here on Earth? Do you think you’re spending it the right way; and spending it for the right purposes?

Life is a short story. How do you spend your 86,400 seconds a day? Does a second matters much to you? Or you just spill it pointlessly and not realize that it can never go back again. Our life is a story, a 24/7 series that there is no rewinding. The time that is given to us is already a blessing, but that blessing can worth much more when we use it in a fruitful way. A seed that is planted in a nice soil can someday become a tree and gives us fruits to harvest. The biggest question is what kind of seed are you going to plant?

Scholars plant the seed of wisdom. They spent years of investing their time into their studies and in return, they harvest precious fruits. Some people plant the seed of beauty. They spent money to improve their outside appearance and in return, they harvest the fruit of satisfaction and increased their self-esteem. Others plant the seed of wealth. They invest their perseverance and dedication in their profession and in return, they harvest the fruit of successful and fulfillment on their retirement. Life offers various types of seeds. It depends on the person how they will plant the seed if it is deep or shallow; how will they take care of it; how frequent will they water the plant; how much love will they put into it; and when the exact date of harvest time is. People always make this major mistake, sometimes they harvest unripe fruits and eventually, the fruit is sour. Sometimes they harvest the fruit overripe; and worse, the fruits are left unnoticed and left to be wilt by time.

Rick Warren defines life as a temporary assignment, but didn’t we realize that life is an endless study? A book of life that each day is a chapter, and as C. S. Lewis says, the next chapter is a lot better than the last. It is a perfect blend of life, each of us ought to know. We maybe different in some feature, but we all have something in common. We all have emotion to feel how good our life that even in troubles, we find reasons to smile and live life at its fullest.

To sum up, they are only two categories of seeds in life. The good seeds are those who provide good fruits and the other are the bad seeds which will eventually produce bad fruits. Now, do you know what seed to plant? Did you plant the right seed? If not, there is enough time to plant another seed, if so, continue nourish it with fertilizer (time, dedication and perseverance) and let time do its work in producing fresh fruit. As what the famous quotation says “Past is history. Future is mystery. But present is a gift. That is why it is called present.” Make great use of your gift, so as future will be less mystery as possible.

What seed of life did you plant already? And what seed of life do you want to plant this time?

I’ll stick with the good seed. There are too many bad seeds in the world. Thought provoking article.
