A Thanksgiving poem.

The seeds of gratitude
do not need good or rich ground
for them to grow;
for they readily sprout
in every surface
that’s showered
with care and kindness.
The seeds of gratitude
quickly bloom when sown
in a parched and desolate heart
to flood it with hope
and to drive it
with sheer inspiration.
toward a radiant future.
So gather a bagful
of these wondrous
seeds of gratitude
and never be fastidious
in scattering them around
as they serve to illumine
the paths of a weary soul.
