The smells, sight and touch during the holidays.

I smell the freshly bake apple pie
Placed on the window shelf as its stream rising above.
My stomach hungry for a taste
My senses in overdrive
I am no stranger to these senses
It returns this time of year
As a young person I have learned
Not to touch a hot pie pan near
I have burned my hands once or twice
To eat such a desirable dish
The hurt made me run for ice
Still it a favor that satisfied holiday delights

The colors just adds to the holiday cheers
The red, green and yellow day gears
I know that peace on earth much be near
A love for mankind with no room for fear
The best part of all
Is the warm and loving hugs
The sense of love and goodwill
Knowing that love ones is near
Each hug and embrace is special and kind
The love that we share is here for all times
While the cold wind blow outside thru the night
Our time on earth is made special during this starlet sky
